Further Mathematics

Studying A Level Further Mathematics offers ambitious and talented mathematicians to distinguish themselves through engaging with a wide range of mathematical ideas which are taken to a new level.

It incorporates much of the work covered at A level, but in much greater depth often drawing on the original work of famous mathematicians from Newton to Hawking and beyond.

This subject is more than just mathematics. It is also about history, science and cultural appreciation too.

As an A Level mathematics student you will develop you own skills, participate in enrichment opportunities and be expected to contribute to the support of others lower down the school. Students who study A level mathematics at The John Warner school are taught by extremely committed and talented teachers who have a genuine enthusiasm and love for their subject. Throughout both A level and Further mathematics there is an emphasis on accuracy, rigour and flair.
