BTEC Engineering

Course Leader:Mr Stuart Higham
BA

BTEC Level 3 Engineering provides students with a foundation of engineering knowledge and skills that will give them the ability to go on and specialise in a multitude of engineering disciplines. Students will have access to modern manufacturing resources in a state of the art purpose built facility. Students have the opportunity to earn 1 to 3 A Level (GCE) equivalent A*-C. Students can work at their own level to achieve the grade they deserve with natural progression onto BTEC or degree level studies. The course includes the chance to gain work experience links and placements both locally and further afield with a rich extracurricular timetable of events and activities.

All the units that are delivered in a thought provoking way that involves practical making tasks designed to stretch students of all abilities. The Edexcel BTEC qualification is nationally recognised as a qualification by employers in the industry, universities and apprenticeship providers.

Enrichment

Students are expected to get involved with the many opportunities which are offered beyond the Engineering curriculum. We have strong work experience links with local companies as well as offering the chance to visit many UK Engineering facilities and take part in national events such as the World Skills UK show and the National and International robotics competition that is VEX.
